From Intel to Action: Operationalizing Threat Intelligence for OT Defenders
About This Session
The OT security community has never had more threat intelligence than it does now, yet it struggles to use it effectively. Reports detailing adversary TTPs flood our feeds, vulnerability advisories inundate our inboxes, and IOCs fill our security tools. For many OT defenders, Threat Intelligence often appears as a stream of IT-centric alerts that rarely relate to the factory floor or the control room. While understanding a new ransomware strain is helpful, knowing how it can impact your industrial environment provides the essential missing context. The challenge isn't a shortage of data; it’s about translating high-level CTI into actionable defense measures without jeopardizing process safety or uptime.
This presentation bridges the gap between strategic threat reports and operational defense in industrial settings. Attendees will explore a practical, lightweight framework for triaging intelligence based on operational impact, safety, and reliability. They will learn how to connect external threat data (TTPs and IOCs) to their specific OT assets and network architecture. We will also address the cultural barrier in communicating relevant threats to operations and engineering teams who need clear, relevant information to make informed decisions.
Whether you're a security analyst supporting a single facility or building a program across multiple sites, this session offers a repeatable methodology for turning threat intel into defensive improvements without waiting for the next vendor briefing to tell you what matters.

Technology Alliances Director - Nozomi Networks
Adam Markham is Technology Alliances Director at Nozomi Networks, where he manages the technology alliance ecosystem and builds the partnerships that carry Nozomi's OT and IoT threat data into the SOC tools defenders already use. He spent more than a decade in U.S. government national security roles, using intelligence to make operational decisions. Before Nozomi, Adam served as CTO of an OT/ICS software company, where he led engineering teams and took cloud-connected industrial systems through Department of Defense accreditation. He has designed, built, and deployed control systems in industrial environments, and brings an engineer's view to OT defense.
